At Clearview House, we know that recovery is ongoing

I was not a “first timer” trying to get sober. In fact, it was about a ten-year uphill struggle. With my first introduction to recovery as an early teen it took many failed attempts to overcome my addictions. After burning many bridges and distancing family, a recovery house welcomed me home like family. It was a brotherhood that loved me until I could love myself.

“They showed me that I could have fun in recovery and that I could turn my life around.”

It took for me to finally surrender, to commence to their ideas and major tenets of sobriety. In a recovery house setting, my old ideas (and even excuses), thankfully, did not work. When I was shown happiness and freedom. I realized did not want to suffer anymore!

After some time going through the steps, maintaining a job, and restoring past relationships, I was approached with the opportunity to open a house in Chester County. A chance to help those like me in need in a way that I experienced, in a way that I knew could work.

My dad was someone whom I had hurt and lost touch with for several years in my battles with addiction, and after my experience in recovery he saw something different in me this time, and wanted to participate in giving back to the recovery process that saved his son’s life. He noticed there were no houses in the Chester County area that could help those like me and offer the next steps to re-enter society. From there a partnership was formed between an Al-Anon Dad and his recovering son to open Clearview House.

For over a decade, Clearview House has been able to assist many men achieve sobriety.

After many years and rewarding experiences with Clearview House, my dad has since retired and Clearview has recently relocated to Downingtown PA. My wife, Raquel has now stepped in to assist with operational duties and together we are blessed to be able to provide men with a safe, structured sober environment enabling men to achieve sobriety and live a healthy, successful life.
